History:

Howerton Equine incorporates every member of the Howerton family. Joann Howerton has spent over thirty years riding, training, and breaking her own horses. Rick Howerton joined her love for horses in 1990. Rick manages the breeding program as well as works with Joann and Curtis in the day-to-day operations. Curtis, now ten, started showing when he was just five years old. Curtis shows halter, and he rides walk-trot. Not only does he compete on a local level, he is competitive on a regional level with the APHA. In June of 2007, Curtis made his first World Show appearance and placed 9th in Youth Walk Trot. Joann shows halter and competes in Amateur Western Pleasure. The Howerton Family are members of the Illinois Paint Horse Club, Wisconsin Paint Horse Club, American Paint Horse Association, as well as several local horse clubs.

Location:

We are located in beautiful, central, Knox County Illinois. Howerton Equine is located just north of Williamsfield, IL. Our property borders our family's 1200 acre centennial farm. The Williamsfield Wranglers Saddle Club Area and Show Grounds is less than a quarter mile from our facility. Our heated stall barn was built less than five years ago, with several turnouts and a twenty acre pasture for our broodmares. A one acre stocked pond is also located on our property.
